The Gastonia Community Watch Association (GCWA) serves as an umbrella organization for the city's more than 70 community watch groups. The GCWA works to enhance the city's quality of life by creating an environment where crime cannot flourish. Quarterly meetings are held, bringing together leaders from community watches across the city. In addition, the GCWA organizes an annual BBQ fundraiser to help leaders raise money for their various watch activities.

Law enforcement cannot be everywhere so citizen involvement is essential in fighting crime. You and your neighbors know better than others what is going on in your neighborhood.
